London 2012 Olympic Art Workshop

6 Sep

London Art Portfolio have been delivering open air workshops as part of the Picture Potters Fields event to celebrate the Olympic Games being held within the City of London. The intention of the workshops is to create documentary drawings that draw upon patriotism from a wide variety of nationalities with the intention of creating participatory and socially interactive art pieces in which the public respond personally to their feelings, thoughts and memories of the sporting events. The pieces are to stand as a physical document of the diversity in London during the summer of 2012.

London 2012 Paralympic Art Workshop

6 Sep

Reconsidering approaches to drawing, London Art Portfolio have been further delivering workshops at Potters Fields, with particular focus on social inclusion and physical challenges. Fabricated wooden sticks have been an exciting tool to aid those in wheelchairs and to challenge individuals to draw and reconsider physical barriers. These are creating dynamic and bold documentary drawings responding to the greatest Paralympic Sporting event in history. Against the setting of the Picture Potters Fields celebrations with disabled performers that stand as inspiring testaments to human ability, the documentary drawings have taken on new inspiration.
